We travel in the challenge of photographing glass as it is a demanding subject! We have photographed hi-end laboratory glassware to classical wine glasses. In most cases, we do not actually photograph the glass at all as it is transparent. What we actually photograph is the obstruction to the light caused by the presence of the subject, e.g. marks, etchings, embossed areas, subject and specular reflections, labels, shadows, refraction etc. Some glass is translucent rather than transparent and so there is something more tangible to light and shoot.
